In last few decades there is increasing acceptance and awareness of herbal drugs all oven the world. In the department of pharmacognosy, we carried out experiments on basic concept of morphology, microscopy, and phytochemical characteristics of herbal drugs. Laboratory engaged in extraction, isolation, herbal formulation development, evaluation and standardization of herbal drugs and phyto-pharmaceuticals.

The pronounced objective of the department is to make students aware of importance of ethnomedicinal plants and procure a channel to introduce more herbs and plants to active medicinal system. Department is having a major priority of planting trees in surrounding area. In front of institution more than 100 rare plants along with different species are up right to cleanse the air. Quality research in the herbal drug is the back bone of Pharmacognosy department.
