An educational visit was organized for B.Pharm Ist year students on 24th Dec 2021 to International Herbal Fair, at Lal Pared Ground, Bhopal.
The Herbal Fair was organized by MP State Minor Forest Produce (Trade & Development) Cooperative Federation Limited.
About 300 stalls were set up in the fair. The management ensured that the participants have submitted the certificate of both the doses of Covid vaccine. There were arrangements of thermal screening and hand hygiene.
Students visited various stalls and got knowledge about Herbal medicines, equipments, techniques used in the formulation of Herbal drugs and traditional uses of herbs. They also visited exhibition arranged by various districts of MP by Forest Departments.
The visit was coordinated by Prof. Mamta Yadav, Prof. Supriya Sharma, Prof. Ritu Sharma and Prof. Atul Tiwari ( Assistant Professors, Bansal College of Pharmacy). Students had enjoyed a lot.
The annual fair, which started in 2001, was not organized in last two years due to Covid. It is held every year to promote sale of herbal products and aims at socio-economic uplift of tribals, forest dwellers and others involved in the business. Free of cost diagnosis by authorized Ayurveda experts was available at the fair.
