Bansal College of Pharmacy organized Ten days Medical coding training program, for B. pharm 8th Sem students. from 11 February to 2nd March 2024, The aim of this training session was to enhance Knowledge and skill in the field of medical coding & literacy to work effectively within the workplace and get more carrier opportunities in the pharmacy field.
Our trainer Mr. Ankit Gour completed his M.Pharma from NIPS, RGPV Bhopal in 2023 and has 1.5 year of experience in Medical coding as a Medical coder in Advantmed India LLP. .
In this session topics were focused the trainer deliver a brief introduction about Medical coding, the USA healthcare overview, how medical insurance companies work and how the business of medical coding comes into the picture and how to become a Medical coder, skill set required for medical coding.the trainer introduce the US healthcare industry, medical coding companies, regulating bodies like AAPC and the American medical association and the linkage between the Patient-provider is a doctor and Payer is an Insurance company sometimes Government.
Basic medical terminology used in medical coding and during the medical record coding and making process. the Anatomy and physiology of the body system and the pathophysiology associated with drugs MOA in the Endocrine and cardiovascular systems.
In last two days student learned “how to be a medical coder” and “how to prepare himself and resume for the post of medical coder”.
A quiz and test were held on the last day of the training session.
In this training B. Pharm 8th Sem 22 students were presented. Prof. Purnima Tripathi coordinated the program.
